Overview of the presentation: Developmental delays and behavioral challenges are common in early childhood, yet there are lags in when concerns are identified and when families obtain needed services. By understanding factors that can impact parent help-seeking practices and ways to jump start this process, early childhood professionals can support more timely connection with care. This workshop will provide an overview of ways to engage in discussions with families that can increase their motivation and engagement with services. About the Presenter: Leandra Godoy, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Children’s National Hospital and the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
